NCSSM Rocketry
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) Rocketry team is a collaborative effort to encourage interest in rocketry across the state. NCSSM Rocketry is entirely student-led at our Durham and Morganton campuses, and includes students in 11th and 12th grade. NCSSM has previously competed in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), Battle of the Rockets (BOTR), and NASA Student Launch (SL) rocketry competitions.
NCSSM is the nation’s first public residential high school specializing in science, technology, engineering, and math. The school challenges talented high school juniors and seniors from across North Carolina through a residential program on our campuses in Durham and Morganton, and through an extensive online program. NCSSM is committed to giving back to the community through the time, talents, and resources of its world-class educators, dedicated staff, and students. Founded in 1980, NCSSM has become the model for 18 such specialized schools around the globe. NCSSM’s 9,000-plus alumni include local and global leaders in medicine, technology, commerce, education, and the arts.
